    Steps to Reconstitute Peptides

    Prepare materials

    Gather the vial of lyophilized peptide, bacteriostatic water, insulin syringes and alcohol wipes. Make sure everything is clean and sterile.

    Clean the vial

    Clean the rubber stopper of the vial with an alcohol wipe and let it dry for 30 seconds before inserting the needle.

    Draw the bacteriostatic water

    With the syringe, draw the desired amount of bacteriostatic water. For most peptides, 1-2 mL is enough. Check the calculator for specific doses.

    Inject slowly into the vial

    Insert the needle into the peptide vial and inject the water SLOWLY down the side of the vial. Let the water trickle down the wall. Never inject it directly onto the powder.

    Allow it to dissolve

    Let the vial sit for 5-10 minutes. The peptide will dissolve gradually. Do NOT shake the vial; swirl it gently if needed.

    Store correctly

    Once reconstituted, store the vial refrigerated (2-8°C). Most reconstituted peptides last 3-4 weeks refrigerated.

    How long does a reconstituted peptide last?

    A peptide correctly reconstituted with bacteriostatic water lasts 3-4 weeks refrigerated at 2-8°C. Without refrigeration, it degrades within hours. Never freeze a peptide once it has been reconstituted.

    Can I use distilled water instead of bacteriostatic water?

    It is not recommended for multi-dose use. Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which prevents bacterial growth. Sterile water is only suitable for immediate, single-dose use.

    How can I tell if a reconstituted peptide has degraded?

    Signs of degradation include: a cloudy solution or visible particles, a color change, an unusual odor, or loss of effectiveness. If you notice any of these signs, discard the vial.
